Natural Finish Bedside Table

Posted in Bedside, Tables

My father copied this table from a piece that sat next to his bed and held the phone. He probably reproduced this table 30 times. I have made at least 15 copies over the years. The size is somewhat flexible – minimum top size 16 inches (square) – maximum 22 inches (square) with oblong sizes between these square dimensions (example 16 X 20). The minimum overhang is 1.5 inches per size. Simple square tapered legs establish a height between 28 to 30 inches. The apron width 4.5 to 6.5 inches. A single dovetail constructed drawer finishes the piece.

The table shown here is made from Cherry with a slightly tinted “natural” finish. A wipe on polyurethane provides the protective top coat.
